The protest, backed by the Cornish branch of the far-right party Reform UK, will target a hotel housing refugees. This mirrors a similar event in Knowsley near Liverpool last week, where rioters spurred on by fascist agitators torched a car and threw fireworks outside another refugee hotel. We understand a counter-protest has been called by several Cornish groups to stop the same thing happening in Newquay – meeting at 11am, location to be confirmed

"Newquay is one of the areas where migrants have been moved into the area, with reports in the community that they have already begun causing problems. "Our activists delivered 400 leaflets around the area, letting the locals know our message. "Patriotic Alternative South West is always eager for more help and new activists, so if you want to get involved, email us at southwest@patrioticalternative.org.uk"

A Facebook event for the anti-refugee (*) protest in Cornwall has been set up by a man named Mylo Gregory, also known as Phillip Gregory, originally from Birmingham, England. In 2020 he was convicted of fraud in Gloucestershire and sentenced to time in prison, after spending 20 months on the run. He was only caught after police arrested him for punching a woman in Newcastle, allegedly knocking her unconscious. Gregory then emigrated to Cornwall after his release.  He was also convicted of drug driving in 2022. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Since 2012 he has opened a string of companies, registered to different addresses. Each one of them was struck off within 2 years of opening, and never sent any accounts to Companies House. There is no evidence these companies ever conducted any legitimate business. Several claim their shares have a “nominal value” in the millions of pounds. Mylo Gregory clearly does not have £20 million in the bank. If that’s not fraud, it’s certainly sketchy as hell.

But the strangeness doesnt stop there. Mylo also claims to be a film producer who has worked with Netflix. This is a lie. The films he claims to have made don‘t appear to even exist. In fact the only media we could find, is one episode of a conspiracy podcast with his mum Julie, and a couple of books self-published on the internet. Earlier this year, young actors took to Twitter to warn people not to engage with him. It appears his scam is to promise people a job, charge an “admin” fee for his trouble, then ghost them, running off with the money:

If anyone on this thread has any screenshots or interactions with Philip Gregory / Mylo Gregory / Milo Gregory please send me them via DM so I can compile them and report!"

Also, again, Netflix have their own casting directors and DO NOT cast on Twitter. #mylogregory #acting #casting #Netflix" Quoted tweet: "I got a DM offering me a future role in a Netflix production (I was like that’s deffo not how it works) So I did some digging! After a lot of back & forth Netflix emailed me… @iammylogregory is full of 💩 he doesn’t, hasn’t & never has worked for them. Stay safe online peeps!"

Tweet from January 10th: "@IMDb is absolutely full of fake information. One guy managed to add his name to a load of @netflix productions and used this to scam loads of industry actors into “auditions” and such. I’ve been reading the horror stories about him #imdb #netflix #casting #actors #mylogregory"

It’s odd that Reform UK, who aim to be the ‘respectable’ face of the far right, would associate themselves with such a person. Clearly, the far right down here are getting desperate. Their anti-lgbtq protest last year was a total flop. Cornish people are not buying their nonsense, so they’ve turned to a weirdo like Mylo Gregory, and neo-nazis from upcountry. It won’t work. People will be out on Saturday 25th in Newquay to oppose them, get down there if you can!

(*) – Footnote: They claim this is about teenage girls getting sexually harassed. As we’ve said before, we have no problem with taking action against nonces. But you have to deal with the individual perpetrator, not go after a whole community. That’s what’s racist. It’s an insult to the survivors of sexual harassment and abuse, when far-right men exploit it for their own agenda. This is not a “refugee problem”, it’s much bigger than that. Teenage girls unfortunately are harassed all the time, by men from all backgrounds and communities. We have to take the problem seriously, not give in to knee-jerk reactions from racist grifters. While Mylo says he is not part of the far right, we say: if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and even quacks like a duck…
